Morning Commute Project - Prototype

Problem - It's illegal to turn left into the carpool at Palmer Elementary. When police are watching parents, the parents don't turn left. As soon as the police are gone, they do it again. This is putting the kids lives in danger as well as the parents who are doing the correct thing.
Question - How can I commend the people who turn right (like they're supposed to) and persuade the people who don't to want to do the right thing?
Solution - A website called Licensediscount.com/Palmer (NOT A REAL WEBSITE). We set up a scanner/camera in the correct angle so when a parent turns right insted of left, it scans/takes a picture of their license plate number. Then, the camera is hooked up to a computer and a person goes through and gets all the numbers (either writing or typing them up). Then sends/gives it to a person who types in the plate number and the person's (the one who turned right) email address shows up. Then s/he sends it to another person who sends all of the discounts out. 10% off each time they turn right and not left. You can only have up to 50% off of only 1 item. The stores giving the discounts are as follows: Kroger, H-E-B, Walgreens, Target and Walmart. The people who still turn left will receive a ticket/fine. There also will be a camera/scanner set up so that when someone turns left, they get a ticket from the police.

– What other things might you wish to re-design in a process like this?
Multiple things. For example, I would re-design the carpool in front of Palmer Elementary so that it is IMPOSSIBLE to turn left.
– What surprised you about this process?
I was surprised, once I thought about it, how much work would "go on behind the scenes" with this process.
–What feedback did you get, and how might you further refine your idea?
I got feedback that was positive from different people. My Mom (my marshmellow) said that the website was a great idea and I should consider making it in the future.
